Burnout Coaching

It's time to take measures

I am glad that you found your way to this site – as it shows you are taking responsibility for yourself! The distress and detachment that burnout causes can threaten your job, your relationships and your health. But you can regain your balance by reassessing priorities, looking after yourself and seeking support, which you are doing right now.

A lot of burnout really has to do with experiencing chronic stress. Multiple, chronic stressors over an extended period of time can leave you totally drained and no longer performing at your best. Stress can actually be quite good but it is key how we deal with it. I compensated my lack of private life with various unhealthy patterns over the course of 15 years. Eventhough my work was very challenging, i mostly enjoyed it – but when work becomes the only intact pillar in your life, it will still drain you as balance is lost.

Step by step

Useful tips

I am pretty sure that we do not need to make a test or list the symptoms of burnout anymore at this point. Let me give you some ideas that will help you:

Start the day with a relaxing routine – rather than jumping straight out of bed, make some time for yourself breathing, meditating, writing, doing gentle stretches, etc.

Eat healthy and deacidify – when you eat right and detox your body, you enable your body to activate self-healing more effectively.

Get enough sleep – research suggests six hours of sleep per night to replenish your resources – i am happy to show you some effective tools for better sleep.

Set boundaries – don’t overextend yourself and learn how to say “no” as that allows you to say “yes” to the things that you truly want to do (i.e. relax..)

Take relaxation seriously – clear your schedule and give yourself the permission to actually enjoy a fair amount of relaxation.

Unplug – set boundaries by turning off cell phones at home and delegating certain times to check email.

Speak out – talk about how you feel with your partner, family, friends and/or a professional like me.

Seek support – asking for and accepting help is crucial as it exposes the misbelief of having to achieve everything by yourself.

Accountability – by involving other people you create an accountability towards yourself to no longer ignore the distress you are in.

How we work together

You come first

Depending on which state you are in, you might feel a high level of frustration, distress, fear and panic or even depression. Your problems might seem insurmountable at this point but rest assured that seeking support is an important step into the right direction. I had to learn the hard way and wish I would have reached out much sooner – allow me to be part of your support system.

Our goal of working together will be to stop the slide and break the vicious cycle of your current situation – we put you back in charge of your life and we will move forward by focussing on what’s important and good for you.

See – recognise what’s going on in your life and watch for the warning signs

Stop – plug the holes that drain your energy and start to replenish your resources

Strengthen – build your resilience by taking care of your physical and emotional health
